NC State vs Notre Dame, What happened to the luster?
During NC State's first football game of the year against the mighty juggernaut
William & Mary, the main topic of conversation was overwhelmingly focused

on the up coming game against the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame.
Tickets were being sold for 5 and 6 times there face value and thoughts of just
as many people in the parking lot tailgating as fans being in the game was a
given.
What State fans didn't factor was Notre Dame (a preseason top 25 team at the
beginning of the year) would start out 2-3 and take the national spotlight
off this game which was given a noon kickoff on sat.
WHATS THE LINE, AND WHO'S GONNA WIN??
The Line NC State -2.5
Normally I would tell you to take Notre Dame and take the points, because on
a dry track, the Fighting Irish have too much talent at the skill positions and on the
offensive line for State to handle (they scored 55 at Syracuse last week on the
road). On the other hand, State has a solid running game with Matt Dayes
(437 yds rushing) to go along with QB Ryan Finley (1018 passing and 0 int)
to take advantage of poor field conditions and grind out a victory.
State has a great chance to pull off a huge signature win and give them some
momentum going into what could be called a murderers row schedule
including games against Florida State, Clemson, and Louisville.

Super Bowl 50: Cam vs Peyton
Who will win Super Bowl 50 comes down to old vs new. Cam Newton, the
newly minted MVP vs Peyton Manning, 39 and way smarter than he is talented now
then he was in his prime, trying too ride off into the sunset with a Super Bowl
trophy. The key to this game will be the Broncos defense and Von Miller vs the
Panther's offense with Cam Newton's combination of his improved passing game and
making plays with his feet. Unless Manning can matriculate (late great Hank
Stram, Super Bowl 4) the ball down the field and take a lot time off the
clock while scoring, the Panthers quick strike offense will be too much to
handle and tire out the Broncos defense.
Take the Panther's plus 5.5 and this game
should easily top the 43.5 O/U (Super Bowls tend to be high scoring).

Baylor gives Michigan State a Christmas gift on New Years Day

Yes Baylor can blame the stupid penalties on losing the game but when there is 2:30 seconds left in the game they snapped the ball at least twice with double digit time left on the play clock with the game clock running.
THAT'S WHAT COST THEM THE GAME, WHILE BRILES IS STANDING THERE WITH HIS THUMP UP HIS BUTT WHILE IN THERE HURRY UP OFFENSE.......MINDLESS.
P.S. the Spartens scored with 17 seconds left in the game.

First NFL Sunday Bears vs Bills, "Super Bowl preview"!!!!
The Bears vs Bills Sunday 1 pm et. "WILL NOT" be a Super Bowl preview this year, as a matter of fact who ever loses this game could be looking at a long season.
The Bears come into this game with one of the best offenses especially at the skill positions.
Jay Cutler has no excuses this year with Matt Forte at RB, Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery (future star) at WR and a offensive line coming into its own. The problem for the Bears this year and u might not of heard this in decades is there defense as Charles Barkley says is Terrrrrrrible.
The Bears signed DE Jerald Allen and with Lance Briggs back healthy at LB to go along with Charles Tillman at DB the Bears three best defensive players are in there 30's.
To say the least, the rest of the kids on Defense better step up (Just don't watch the Seattle preseason game, Yikesssss).
Prediction: 9-7 I hope, they have a tough road schedule.

The Broncos vs the Seahawks take Manning in Super Bowl XLVlll
Super Bowl XLVlll between the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks will be decided because of two things. The temperature which will be in the mid 40's and Peyton Manning's passing.
1. (The Weather) : The temperature at game time will be in the mid 40's which is huge for the Broncos. Peyton Manning playing in cold weather (under 32 degrees) has a losing record and a much lower passer rating. There will not be a wind factor either, which will be huge for Manning to unleash his full passing game on Richard Sherman and the Seattle.
2. (Manning's passing game) : Peyton Manning's crossing routes and drag routes passing game will confuse The Seahawks tight, bump and run secondary. Running back Knowshon Moreno should play a big roll in this game between running the ball and catching screen passes out of the backfield.

NFC & AFC TITLE GAMES TODAY AND THE WINNER'S ARE?
Four teams enter, two teams leave to play in Super Bowl XLV111 today with the Broncos vs the Patriots at 3:00 et then the Seahawks vs the 49ers at 6:30 et.
I'm going with the home teams today (Denver and Seattle) because at the end of the day whether they were on the road or at home they are the two best teams.
First game Broncos +5.5 over under 56. This game comes down to one thing, the Broncos have a way better receiving core then the Patriots (less Rob Gronkowski). Payton Manning shrugs off some playoff failures of the past and has a big day against a soft Patriots secondary in a shoot out. Take the over........
Second game Seahawks + 3.5 over under 40. The Seahawks win this game because of their defense. DA COACH SAYS DA BEARS WIN THE SUPER BOWL THIS YEAR BY 50!!!!!!
Da Bears start there quest to Super Bowl glory today at 1pm est against the Cincinnati Bengals. I'm predicting Da Bears will win easily today by 40 to 50 points with the third string quarterback playing most of the 4th qtr so as to not run up the score into the 80's.
With Jay (future Super Bowl MVP) Cutler throwing 60 plus td's to Brandon Marshall and Matt Forte running for a league record 2500 yards this year, the Bears defense will only be on the field for less then fifteen minutes a game this year, so not having Brian (future HOF) Urlacher won't be a problem.
People U can take this prediction to the bank. I have checked with Da Coach and he agrees with me completely, except he says Cutler will trow 100 Td's to Brandon Marshall (will see God willing).
So enjoy the season everybody but know Da Bears are the class of the NFL, so says Schabes and Da Coach.

C.J. F-ing Leslie NBA bound? What a joke......
After today's game, C.J. (F Bomb) Leslie is not only not ready for the NBA, but he's also barely good enough to play for State. If he goes pro after this year the only league he will be playing in next year starts with the 4th letter of the alphabet.
He is a whiny little child, that when he starts a game bad, you know its going to do nothing but go down hill from there.
Lets also give a big wolkpack thanks to Richard Howell for his awful play yesterday and getting in foul trouble. I especially liked the foul he commited 35 ft from the basket, chasing around Florida States point guard (can we say this team is a little undisciplined).
The combined stat line for Howell and Leslie yesterday was 5-11 shooting and a game changing 5-13 from the free throw line (they lost by 4).
So unless Maryland beats Virginia on the road, (Virginia is 8-0 at home in ACC play this year) NC State which was ranked 6th in the country to start the year, will be playing in the thursday play in games, to get to the quarter finals. Just a tidbit no team has ever won four games in four days in ACC tournament history.
I know there going to make the NCAA tournament no matter what happens in the ACC tournament, but I gotta tell you yesterday was one hell of a disappointing game, that they should of won......

SAN FRAN FAVORED BY 4, TAKE THE RAVENS AND THE POINTS
Super Bowl Sunday is here, with the 49ers vs the Ravens. This game has one of the closet point spreads (4) in a long time.
My take on the game comes down to, can the Ravens front seven stop Colin Kaepernick from running (not passing the footall) and keep him in the pocket. If he does get out of the pocket like he did against Green Bay, look out its gonna get ugly.
I beleive Baltimore's front seven will not let him out of the pocket with blitzes and the linebackers like (Ray Lewis) watching his every move.
My prediction: Take the Ravens and the points and watch Flacco have a field day passing the football against the San Francisco defense..........

ALABAMA PLUS 9.5 OVER THE IRISH, I DON'T THINK SO.
The fighting Irish of Notre Dame can win this game tonight against Alabama if they do one thing. "STOP THE RUN". The Crimson Tides offense will not pass the ball tonight untill Notre Dame shows they can handle Alabama's massive ofensive line, by putting 8 in the box and playing man to man on the outside.
The point spread dictates vegas doesn't think Notre Dame can stop the Tides running game, but I believe they can because of two things, Notre Dame's size at defensive tackle (around 320) and that "DUDE named Manti, lol.
For the Irish to win Tonight, Manti Te'o has to make plays in the runnig game and get to the quarterback in the passing game (at least 10 tackles or more, plus a sack or two).
Lets not forget the Irish offense, led by all everything, RG111 clone, Everett Golson. He's the perfect QB to play against Alabama, because of his ability to both run it and pass it and keep the Crimson Tide offense off the field.

Sonny Dykes to be next NC State football Coach?
If Sonny Dykes becomes the next head coach at NC State, get ready for a lot offense and some fun and gun.
Dykes, the head coach at La tech, a member of the wac conference has either lead the nation in scoring (2012) or been near the top in the last two years he's been at Tech.
If you like offense and just enough defense, (they gave up 38 points a game this year) this guys "Air Raid Offense" meaning, play fast and throw it 40-50 times a game, should bring excitement and sold out games to Carter Finley Stadium.
This also will not let opposing defenses make changes personel wise because of the this up tempo style of attack.
Lets hope Debbie Yow can make this hire happen, and will all be saying Tom Obrien who!!!

JEREMY LIN WANTED TO STAY WITH THE KNICKS!!!. THAT'S COMPLETE B.S.
Jeremy Lin is either naive or slow. The Rockets wrote that contract specifically with the big third year, knowing full well that would put the knicks wayyyy above the luxury tax and he knew it.
That was the only way the Rockets would write a contract with him, because they knew the knicks would match the 25 million if it was spread out evenly over three years. He's full of you know what. (HOW DO YOU SAY THAT IN CHINESE LOL...).
Kudos to the Rockets brass for coming up with this contract and stealing Lin from the Knicks.......

THE CHICAGO BEARS AND MATT FORTE CONTRACT SITUATION, LET'S MEET IN THE MIDDLE FELLAS!!!
The Chicago Bears make a good point concerning Matt Forte and a long term contract. The life of a running back in the NFL is short and your coming off a knee injury (a season ending strained mcl). Matt Forte and his agent say he's completely healthy, has averaged over 1000 yards per season, (4233) over his four year career and is considered one of the best receivers out of the backfield in the league.The answer is clear for both Da Bears, (had to work that in at some point) and Forte, "MEET IN THE MIDDLE".
It is easy to see what Forte wants, two comparable Backs, Philadelphia's LeShon McCoy (6 yrs 45.6 million with 20.7 million in guarantees) and Houston's Arian Foster (5 yrs 43.5 million contract with 20.75 million in guarantees) are comparable to his talent and numbers, but the reality is neither of these guys are comming off knee injuries and unfortunately for Matt, this is a business.
From the Bears side of it, they know they need to get something done to keep there top offensive weapon on the field long term and eliminate a huge distraction during training camp, plus making the Bears faithful happy in 2012.
Bottom line, look for the Bears and Forte to reach a deal somewhere in the mid 30 million range over 5 years, with 18 to 20 million guaranteed. This should make both sides happy and lets hope if your a Bears fan we don't hear the words mcl injury and Forte in the same sentence ever again....

WATCH OUT BELOW HERE COMES THE PIANO OFF LEBRON'S BACK!!!
Miami wins the NBA titile and Lebron James can go back to his original playing weight of 250 pounds. Why you say, because after nine years, three NBA finals, a shit load of hype and even more criticism, LB can finally call himself NBA champion and throw that big wurlitzer off his back.
The main reason he can call himself NBA champion is for one reason, (HE DIDN'T CHOKE IN THE FINALS THIS TIME!!!). What he did was be a leader and play like a champion.
He hit the biggest three of his life (ala Michael Jordan) in game six while cramping up big time, and in game seven all he had was a triple double and controlled the game at both ends of the floor.
Combine that with 20 points from Dwayne Wade and a spectacular 23 points from Mike Miller including 7 three pointers while barely being able to walk.
So whats next for Lebron and company, well I guess its on to winning not 2 not 3 not 4 not 7 more championships to try to back up that rant he had back after he signed with the Heat.......(I doubt it).
PS. lets give a shout out to Juwan Howard for being the first Michigan fab five member to win any kind of championship. Sure it took 20 years but who's counting.......

One writer, Jason Whitlock (Fox Sports) suggested they break up the Heat. That of course is never gonna happen. thats a joke, the Heat went from no playoffs, ("PLAYOFFS, DON'T TALK ABOUT PLAYOFFS") to within 2 games of the NBA championship, plus every game is sold out, to go along with record merchandise sales, your dreaming Jason about that happening anytime soon.
Who's left in the East: Boston's to old, Indiana is to young (watch out for them next year), Philly couldn't beat Miami if the Heat gave them a 10 point lead to start every game, so the eastern conference should be a cakewalk.
The best of the west: San Antonio looks strong as usual, but the team that's coming out the western conference is..........wait for it.........the Oklahoma City thunder. With The dynamic duo of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, to go along with sixth man of the James Harden, OKC should be able to hold of the Spurs and get to their first NBA finals.
Bottom line: To put it mildly, if the big three and the Heat can't beat a young OKC team in the finals this year, it would have to be because of another Lebron choke, or a Wade injury. Prediction: Heat in 6 and James throws the piano and the criticism off his back. (Get ready South Beach to get your championship party on).

Here's the bad. Because he CHEATED!!!. While at U Mass, (recruiting, illegal payments) in the mid nineties and at Memphis in 08' with Derek Rose (same thing), he's the only coach I can think of that coached two teams to the final 4, including the 08' championship game and those seasons never happened, (erased by the NCAA) because of these violations.
Fast forward to 2012, and what do we have, coach Cal, as he likes to be called, back in the final 4 with a starting 5 that is all projected to be taken in this years NBA draft. If there was ever a year to throw that monkey off his back this is it, but with his failures in the final 4 still haunting him (had a 9 point lead with two minutes to go in 08' against Kansas) nothing is a sure thing with coach Cal.
My take: Calipari stays out of his own way, lets this group of one and doners, play the wide open run and gun offense their built for, takes care of Louisville on Saturday and then gets his revenge on Monday against Kansas in the title game. Then all will be happy in Calipariville, I mean Lexington.

RORY MCILROY, GOLF'S NEW NUMBER #1, TIGER SHOOTS 62, PGA TOUR SCREAMS YAHOOO!!!
If you thought you heard champagne bottles popping outside your window last night, it was just the PGA Tour celebrating what happened at the Honda Classic yeaterday in south Florida.
Not since the 2008 US OPEN, when Tiger beat Rocco Mediate in a 19 hole playoff, has Golf's ratings been this high, or as Tiger would say (" BACK IN THE GOOD OLD DAYS, WINK WINK!!!").
Between the new young guns, (Dustin Johnson, Ricky Fowler etc), Rory at only 22 years old, to go along with Phil Mickelson and Tiger, the glory days of monster ratings like in the early 2000's is about to go off the charts.
Lets get back to Mcilroy, Golf's new #1 player in the world, defending US OPEN champion, and dating hot women, (currently Tennis pro Caroline Wozniacki), Ahhh reminds me of my days back at SIU, (OK I WASN'T GOLF'S #1 PLAYER, LOL) this my friends is exactly what the PGA needed.
The timing of this could not of been better for the tour, with the Masters in four weeks and the other three majors coming up in June, July, and August, get ready for the Sunday drama of old with one difference, the Tiger intimidation factor to these young guns, who can hit it longer and chip it closer is long gone.................
PS. The ACC tournament starts thursday, should be a great four days. Hey KC have you lost weight your looking good!!! (inside joke).
