NC STATE DEFEATS WVU 23-7 IN THE CHAMPS SPORTS BOWL. LAST GAME FOR RUSSELL WILSON!!!

If tuesday nights Champs sports bowl victory by NC State over WVU was Russell Wilson's final game for the Wolfpack, what a way to close out your college career.  Wilson 28/45 for 275 yds and 2 td's had a tremendous game against the 22nd ranked mountaineers on the warm tundra of the florida citrus bowl in Orlando (sorry, thinking about the bears @ packers this sun). Russell's dilemma is will he come back for his senior year, or will he focus solely on baseball. Its well known that he wants to play both, the problem is he was drafted in the fourth round by the Colorado Rockies and given an estimated 250,000 signing bonus (wow maybe my sophomore in college daughter (Kristen) should call him lol). Too me the answer is clear, what ever the Rockies want goes. their the ones who forked over the quarter mill, and if Colorado's down with him playing all spring and summer for them (won't make the bigs this year anyway) then Wilson should come back and chase his NFL dream and play one more year. State has alot of returning players coming back and a great recruiting class coming in  (only person that wouldn't be happy is MIke Glennon, oops) so next year could up his draft stock (size is scouts main concern * look at Drew Brees, nuff said) with another year of solid play. MY Take = He comes back after the Rockies give their blessing and he plays baseball till aug, and gets the blessing from Tom O'brien to miss spring practice or at least most it and come back for a month of prep before the first game in sept 2011. This makes everybody happy and the wolfpack faithful thinking ACC championship and a BCS berth..

WHO'S THE BEST TEAM IN FOOTBALL. BRADY AND THE FOXBORO PATRIOTS THATS WHO....

The Foxboro patriots known as the New England patriots but actually represents the Boston area (that's a mouth full) would have to be on everybody's list as their favorite to not only get to super bowl, but be a heavy favorite to win it all come february (yes feb) with three weeks left to go in the regular season. After dismantling the NY jets 45-3 the week before (jets where talking all sorts of smack leading up to the game) the Patriots came to Soldier field in Chicago to play the bears (winners of 5 in a row) in blinding snow and wind last sunday. The bears thought they had everything going for them, home field, bad weather and Lovie Smith (sic). What did they get, the worst half time deficit (33-0) in the history of the franchise. The bears deceided to play mostly zone against Brady (dumbasses, he's only one the most accurate passers in history) and he proceeded to pick them apart, (especially with no bears pass rush) by throwing to his little flea receivers (Welker & co).

With a remaining schedule of the packers (no Aaron Rodgers take the pats and lay the points) Schabes pick of the week.... @ Buffalo and at home vs Miami to finish the season, the patriots should have home field throughout the playoffs (PLAYOFFS, WHO'S TALKING ABOUT PLAYOFFS!!!....see commercial). The only AFC team I see beating them would be the ravens, because of their defense and with the ability to get to the QB. The only way to stop the pats is to knock Brady on his keister, because as he did against the jets and bears which is stand their all day, he'll pick you apart. So with the super bowl 7 weeks away I hope somebody can beat the pats in the playoffs so my beloved bears don't have to play them again (ouch), hopefully da coach can take care of dat with the da powers that he has................

December and the NFL, with 5 games left, who's gonna make the "PLAYOFFS"

December to some means the holidays, shopping and going to strip clubs ( I mean getting together with friends and family), but to Schabesonsports, the NFL becomes front and center with just 5 weeks to go to see who's in the playoffs and who's not. As of today here are your top six teams in each conference that would be in the post season if the playoffs started today.
NFC - Eagles 7-4 east  Da Bears 8-3 north  Falcons 9-3 south Rams 5-6 (pew) west
Wild card teams two make it - Saints 8-3 Three tied for the last spot Packers,  Bucs, and Giants 7-4

AFC - Jets 9-2 east  Jaguars 6-5 south Chiefs 7-4 west Ravens 8-3 north
Wild card Patriots 9-2  Steelers (easy Dana Borger there in) 8-3

The great thing that can happen with 5 weeks to go, is that anything can happen to any of these teams.  One of these teams can choke and be out, or almost anybody (less the Rams) could play themselves into home field advantage throughout the playoffs (coach Ditka and Schabes would like Da Bears to go all the way).

Surprising teams on the outside looking in.   Indy (no running game to help Manning)  Vikings (early super bowl favorites) and the disapointing Houston Texans (was finally going to be there break out year) just to name a few.

Game of the week - Jets @ Patriots mon. Winner sets up shop to be best in AFC!!!.

Week two of Gratuitous female sports pick of the week. Drum roll please....................
